This week has been the most calm yet most overwhelming ever! I have felt the pressure of getting all my final assignments done for study abroad and let me tell you it isn't easy. Finishing one or two of the assignments you think it would help a little bit but nope you have other things added on that need to be finished as well! I guess that's how final's season is here in London right?
This week I started off by going to an exhibit at the Barbican called The Japanese House: Architecture and Life after 1945 which was really interesting. The upstairs portion had different sections that were focused on a specific time period of living in Japan with its background story. Downstairs it was more interactive with a real life version of what some of the houses/rooms looked like during that time period. They even had a section in the middle where you could watch some anime (my roommate at Iowa State would have so loved it - but the ones they were showing were a little on the creepy/scary side, definitely not my taste).
The next day I spent the majority of time in class doing school work but then in the evening myself and a couple friends went back to the Mosob Eritrean Restaurant where I got to eat some traditional food all over again (so much different from home because here I get to choose the dish I like only haha).
One of my classes ended this week (British Cultural Studies) and our class went to Primrose Hill to reflect on how our time here is ending. That neighborhood is one of the prettiest places I have seen in London. With all the pastel houses and cute little kids running around it is an ideal place to raise a family (except reminder that kids are loud and like to use their vocals....).
My weekend consists of project work, individual work and ya just homework on homework. I had my final styling shoot this weekend which went well (THANK GOD, here's a little sneak peek down below), and I tried my best to relax (to the best of my capabilities).
Everything is going by so fast, I am trying to enjoy my last bits of London the best that I can (ugh but school always gets in the way). This week lets hope I can balance both school and seeing new parts of London!
